My unit isn’t hitting the right keys when I press them (how to calibrate the screen)
When the unit starts up in the main menu (big compass in the
middle), there is a “System Info” button (lower right).
If you tap that, in the lower left there is
“Calibration”. Pressing this will take you to a screen
with a crosshair (target) in the middle, (you will need the stylus
from the back of the unit or form the back of the mounting bracket,
at this stage). Tap the middle of the crosshair and it will move to
the upper left, again tap in the middle of the crosshair, and
continue as it moves around the four corners of the screen. After
tapping the final crosshair, a count down will begin - before it
runs out tap the middle of the screen to save the calibration you
have just completed.
(Please note that to get to the above mentioned screen with later
portable models you might have to press the “Settings”
button in the top left corner, and then follow the above
instructions). Q: My unit isn’t hitting the right keys when I
press them (how to calibrate the screen)
For the 7500 series you’ll need to go to “setup”
on the main menu (the one with DVD, Ipod, etc) and at the top in
the middle you’ll find “calibrate screen”, tap
this and follow the on screen instructions by tapping the
“+” accurately and continue as it moves around the
screen.
For the X series, press “setup”, press “general”, you’ll see calibrate down the bottom of the screen, tap this and follow the on screen instructions by tapping the “+” accurately and continue as it moves around the screen.
To accurately tap the “+” get a stylus or something sharp and plastic, DO NOT USE A SCREWDRIVER OR OTHER SHARP METAL THING! Trust us! You’ll end up slipping and scratching the screen. Really you will. Don’t do it.
