How to setup an override switch for a camera

It is possible and commonly done - you will have to put a diode in the circuit, otherwise your reverse light will come on whenever you flick the camera on (could be disconcerting for the person behind you on the freeway!), however the main reason is that you do not crash your cars ECU as illuminating the reverse light will most probably put the car into “limp mode” and will not allow your car out of first gear or above about 2500RPM.
