Wouldn't let me continue on original post.
When I take the unit out of the vehicle it pick up between 7 and 10 satellites in a matter of seconds.
It is only when it is in the vehicle with the UHF on

    Hello,

It appears then that your 700HDX unit is working correctly.
As advised earlier, this is the first instance that we have heard of a UHF radio affecting the satellite reception, this radio must be putting out a lot of radio frequency "hash" that is swamping the reception of the 700HDX unit.

You have advised that the reception gets wiped out even when running the 700HDX unit on batteries only (the charge lead NOT plugged in at all?)

You need to try another brand of radio, what brand do you have now? Oricom?

    VMS support.

    Hello,

    Ok thanks.

We have seen on other forums with an Oricom brand radio wiping out GPS reception.

A possible fix is to wire a new earth wire to a solid point on the chassis for the socket that powers the VMS unit (I believe you did say that it is the same with it running on batteries also?) or where the UHF is powered. Otherwise you will have to replace the radio.

    VMS support.
